How to set up integration between Navision and ProTeria Web?

An integration between Navision and ProTeria Web can save you unnecessary time otherwise spent entering addresses and reference fields manually. By following the points in this article, anyone can set up such an integration in minutes.

  1. Download the latest version of ProTeria CloudConnect service. Place it on the server where you want the files to be transferred to (see step 6) a safe place on your machine. This service needs to always run as a background operation for the integration to function at all times. If it doesnt work, ensure the service is running.

  2. (This step is not necessary if you are already running a file export to our previous locally stored software ProTeria Frakt, but take note of the folder you are generating files to.)

Open the Navision application and set up the settings for exporting .XML file and when file should produce and to which folder structure it should go. Make sure that there is a folder that is securely located on your computer (ie a place where it is unlikely that the folder will be moved by users).

  3. Now we will make sure that ProTeria has access to the selected folder and can retrieve them. First go into the browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge) and paste the following link: “localhost: 6677

  4. If you have not already done this validation before, you will land on this page that asks for your ProTeria API key (read: "How to find your ProTeria API key") and your customer number at ProTeria (read: "What is my ProTeria customer number? ”). Fill in and click “Validate

  5. After entering the API key and customer number, or if it was already in, you hit a blank page where you only see a menu at the top that looks like this. Click on "Add / remove filewatcher"

  6. Then it will look like this, and select the following options: On filters, enter “*.*” Which will indicate that all the files in the folder should be exported, select Type: “Freight” Integration: “Navision” as shown below. Under Directory, select the folder you selected earlier in point 2 of this guide.

  7. Press “Save”.

  8. If you then have an order in Navision for which you have generated a packing slip (as selected in this case, or generated a file from by other means), you can go to ProTeria Web and select eg "New Bring"

  9. If you have ordered an integration module activated by ProTeria, you will have a box called "Search in order system" available inside ProTeria Web. There you can enter an order number to see if it appears → click on the order you want.

  10. Then press "Get order", and it will appear with contact info, address and the fields you have otherwise filled out.
